How to Choose a Wedding Venue in the Peak District
The Peak District is a popular location for weddings thanks to the beautiful scenery and the range of grand hotels and stately homes which make perfect wedding venues. If you’ve chosen to hold your wedding in the Peak District then check out the quick guide below to finding the right venue for your special day.
Firstly, decide on the area of the Peaks that you want to get married. There are a number of large towns and cities surrounding the Peaks so if you are based in one of these areas then you may want to choose a venue near to your home town or city. If the majority of your friends and family live in the same place then choose a convenient location in the Peaks to hold your wedding so that your guests can get to and from the venue easily.
Once you’ve decided on which area you want to get married in you can narrow down your wedding venue. The Peak District has a range of venues from the world famous Chatsworth House to smaller and more intimate hotels and more offbeat locations such as farms. The venue you choose will depend on how big your wedding party is as some of the smaller hotels may not be able to accommodate large wedding parties.
Your budget will also have a direct influence on the venue you choose and unfortunately some of the grander wedding venues in the Peak District can be quite pricy. If you do have a tight budget then look for venues which provide wedding packages as this way you will know upfront exactly how much the cost will be. The Izaak Walton Hotel in Dovedale for example provides a wedding package for less than £4000.
There are a number of Peak District wedding venues to choose from so make sure you visit a shortlist of your favourite locations so you choose the right venue for your wedding day.
